Everyone’s talking about AI – but could it make a hit pop song? Could you use it to write a bestselling novel? Or create a stunning image? And should we even be using AI to create art anyway!?

You will take part in guided, hands-on activities using Google Gemini to experiment with image generation, music generation, and creative writing with AI.

This 2 hour course is made for tech beginners – we’ll explain everything in plain English. This is a chance to play with AI in a creative, thoughtful, and responsible way.

How to make your social media safe, secure, and “unhackable”

• Monday 18 May, 2pm – 3.30pm, Girvan Library
• Tuesday 19 May, 10am – 11.30am, Alloway Library

In this 90 minute course, you’ll learn to identify common social media scams, and learn the tactics these scammers use to exploit our trust. We will show you ways to protect your online accounts and make them unhackable.

Afterwards, you’ll feel more confident about using social media safely. You’ll know how to avoid potential scams, and how to lock down your accounts.

This advice will help protect you, your friends, and your family. This course is made for beginners.

Creative Educators’ Network | What do teachers need to know about AI?

AI is already having an impact on education and in the creative industries, so every teacher should have the opportunity to explore AI tools in a creative and safe environment.

This session is ideal for educators who are interested in learning more about AI and how to teach about and with it.
