Introducing ‘Dot’ Magazine, a new way for people aged 50+ to feel smart, safe, and connected. Inside, we’ve got lots of advice about staying safe online and discussing ways we can improve our digital wellbeing.
Craig will show you how to spot online scams and tech expert Daniel will answer your questions about staying safe online. We’ve got a special section where you can cut out important info about staying safe online and keep it somewhere safe, like on your fridge, notice board, or in a drawer. Kirstie shares her experience of improving her digital wellbeing, and you’ll also read about an inspiring charity called ‘Playlist for Life‘ who are using music to help people living with dementia.
We’re focused on using simple words that everyone can understand. We want to make sure everyone, especially women aged 50+ , can read and learn without feeling left out by all the tech jargon. We’re all about making sure everyone feels good and safe using the internet.
I got the impression that folk found it very readable, judging by the fact that it took a while to get their noses out of it, to get on with our group sessions!
The magazine is being distributed to different community groups across Scotland. You can share it with friends and family. It’s our way of helping everyone feel more confident and connected online.
I keep it by my phone so that if I get a call or email I’m unsure about I can look at the advice or report it. I feel a lot more confident in spotting scams.
