We’ve partnered with YouthLink Scotland to offer youth workers across Scotland the chance to learn about using ChatGPT and DALL-E.
The two hour course will focus on “generative A.I.” – these are creative apps that can create text, songs, poems, short stories, images, sounds, and music. Some of the most well known generative A.I. tools are ChatGPT and DALL-E.
Craig Steele, the Director of Digital Skills Education, wants this course to dispel some misconceptions about AI:
There’s a perception that AI is a scary topic, really complicated to use, and perhaps a bit intimidating. I’m eager to challenge that perception. AI can’t just be for tech experts; it’s something we can all benefit from learning about and using. I look forward to showing creative ways tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E can be used with young people.
Craig Steele, Director of Digital Skills Education
Thanks to a partnership with YouthLink Scotland, the first two courses will be available for free to youth workers and educators. The training will take place in Edinburgh, in the YouthLink Scotland headquarters.
Having a practical lesson, where you’ll get to sit with us and play around is a great way to explore AI. We’ve designed the course to be jargon-free and easy to understand, so youth workers will be able to use the practical examples at their next youth work session.
Daniel Devine, Head of Programmes
It’s important to introduce these tools to your young people in a safe and responsible way. The course will look at the ethical issues around AI, how these tools work, and how they can be misused.
Spaces for the first two courses are absolutely free for youth workers and educators, thanks to our partnership with YouthLink Scotland. However, availability is limited, so secure your spot now to ensure you don’t miss out.
