Recap: Cyber Skills Course

Recap: Cyber Skills Course

Last month, 47 adult learners improved their cyber security skills by taking part in our free online course: “Practical Cyber Resilience”. Course leaders Craig Steele and Daniel Devine showed workers from across Scotland how to keep themselves and their family cyber safe.

The training covered the most fundamental apps and tools for staying safe online, including using password managers and choosing antivirus software.

Craig spoke through common security concerns, like how to spot and protect yourself from scam websites and emails. Daniel gave expert detailed advice and recommendations including the best way to back up documents, and the importance of keeping system software and apps up to date.

At the end of the course, learners were awarded a certificate of participation and a limited edition Cyber Resilience enamel badge!

This course was a brilliant way to learn new digital skills in an informal learning environment.

Learners were from across the public and private sector including North Lanarkshire Council, HMRC, Stirling Council, Scottish Government, and the Department of Work and Pensions.
